Shravani Parva is observed at the Bengaluru Chetna Kendra with a Panchkundiya Gayatri Yagya — five kunds burning together, celebrating the descent of knowledge and our reverence towards Nari Shakti. It is the day the shastras associate with renewing one's study and one's vows, and the Kendra keeps that spirit at the centre of the observance.

The day carries Rishi and Ved pujan, Hemadri Sankalp, Das Snan, Yagyopaveet, Raksha Bandhan and tree plantation. The rakhi tied here is not only a thread between siblings — it is a pledge of protection extended to the family, to society and to the earth itself, which is why the day closes with saplings going into the ground.

Alongside the yagya, sanskars are performed for families of the pariwar with full Vedic mantras — Punsavan, Annaprashan and Janm Divas among them. If you would like a sanskar performed for your family on this day, do speak to the Kendra beforehand. Everyone is welcome, and there is no fee for any part of the observance.
