Seven Movements for a Transformed World
॥ यत् पिण्डे तत् ब्रह्माण्डे ॥

The Foundation
Vichar Kranti — The Thought Revolution
Every movement of the Gayatri Pariwar flows from a single conviction of Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya: change the quality of thought, and everything else changes with it. Vichar Kranti — the revolution in thought — is the wellspring from which the Sapt Andolan, the Seven Movements, arise. Through millions of books, the Akhand Jyoti magazine, and today's digital platforms, righteous thought is carried to every doorstep, replacing despair with constructive vision. AWGP Bengaluru brings these seven movements into the rhythm of modern city life — through spiritual wisdom and collective action that meet the deepest challenges of our time.
The Seven Movements
Sapt Andolan

Sadhana Andolan
The first and foundational movement. Before society can change, the individual must — and Sadhana is the inner work that makes it possible. Through Gayatri Sadhana, daily upasana, Yagya, and self-discipline, the seeker purifies thought, feeling, and action. AWGP Bengaluru holds regular Sunday Yagya, meditation sittings, and Sadhana camps that make this practice accessible to busy city life.
- Gayatri Sadhana and daily upasana for inner refinement
- Weekly Yagya and collective meditation sittings
- Sadhana camps and Shivirs adapted to modern life

Swasthya Andolan
A healthy body is the first instrument of a meaningful life. This movement unites the body's care (swasthya) with healing (chikitsa) — promoting Yoga, Pranayama, balanced diet, and the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda, alongside free medical camps for those who cannot afford care. Gayatri Sadhana and Yagya are offered as scientifically grounded, complementary supports to physical and mental wellbeing.
- Yoga, Pranayama, and Ayurvedic wellness for all
- Free medical and health camps for the underprivileged
- Gayatri Sadhana and Yagya as complementary health tools

Swavalamban Andolan
Dignity grows from standing on one's own feet. The self-reliance movement encourages honest livelihood, skill-building, frugality, and the wise use of resources, so that families and communities are not dependent but self-sustaining. Industriousness paired with simple living — "simple living, high thinking" — is held up as the real foundation of prosperity and freedom.
- Honest livelihood and practical skill-building
- Frugality and the wise use of resources
- Simple living, high thinking as a way of life

Paryavaran Andolan
The Vedic seers revered Nature as sacred, and this movement revives that reverence in practice. It joins ancient wisdom with modern ecology — large-scale tree planting, the protection of rivers, and Yagya, which is offered as a traditional means of purifying the atmosphere. Communities are guided toward sustainable, eco-conscious living that treats the earth as kin, not commodity.
- Large-scale tree planting and river protection
- Yagya as a traditional means of atmospheric purification
- Eco-conscious, sustainable living education

Nari Jagran Andolan
Gurudev held that no society can rise while half of it is held back. The women's awakening movement restores the dignity the Vedic age gave to women — through education, self-confidence, economic self-reliance, and spiritual growth. It stands firmly against the dowry system and gender discrimination, and invites women into full and equal participation in spiritual and community life.
- Education and economic self-reliance for every woman
- A firm stand against dowry and gender discrimination
- Reviving the Vedic dignity and role of women

Vyasan Mukti Andolan
Addiction quietly drains the health, wealth, and peace of countless families. This movement frees individuals from alcohol, tobacco, and other intoxicants through counselling, community pledges, and the substitution of self-destructive habits with uplifting spiritual practice. Where an addiction once stood, Sadhana and constructive purpose are planted in its place.
- Counselling and de-addiction support
- Community awareness drives and public pledges
- Spiritual practice as a positive replacement for addiction

Kuriti Unmoolan Andolan
Society carries customs that have outlived their meaning — blind faith, extravagant weddings, wasteful death-rites, casteism, and child marriage among them. This movement works to gently but firmly retire these, replacing superstition with rational, scientific spirituality. Drawing on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, it dissolves barriers of caste and class through shared Yagya, social harmony gatherings, and acts of service such as blood-donation camps.
- Ending blind faith, dowry, lavish weddings and death-rites
- Rational, scientific spirituality over superstition
- Social harmony through shared Yagya and blood-donation camps
