
Yug Rishi Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya
Gurudev · 1911–1990Saint, reformer, writer, philosopher, freedom fighter, and visionary, Gurudev was born on 20 September 1911 at Anwalkheda, Agra. At fifteen he began 24 Mahapurashcharans of the Gayatri Mantra under the guidance of his Guru, and joined India's freedom struggle with Gandhi's blessings. He translated the entire Vedic Vangmaya into lucid Hindi, authored over 3,000 books, and gave a 100-point Yug Nirman Yojna for the spiritual, moral, and social upliftment of the masses. He founded Shantikunj, the Brahmavarchas Research Institute, and the monthly Akhand Jyoti (1940). A devout son of Gayatri Mata, he voluntarily shed his body on Gayatri Jayanti, 2 June 1990.
