Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha

Not just an exam — a movement of cultural awakening and value-based education.

Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha (BSGP) is a free, written examination on Indian culture, life-values and the inspiring art of living, organised under the guidance of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Shantikunj. Open to students from grade 5 upward, it is built not to test memory but to awaken character, patriotism, confidence and self-awareness. In Bengaluru, the programme is conducted in hundreds of schools each year, reaching tens of thousands of students. Through a simple, engaging question paper drawn from our heritage — the lives of great personalities, the meaning of festivals, the values of Indian culture — it gently turns young minds toward the dignity of the nation and the art of living well.

What Is BSGP?

BSGP is an examination on Indian culture — but its real aim is not marks. It is a movement to connect the young generation with the values, heritage and patriotism that hold a person and a nation together. Students from grade 5 upward read simple, illustrated study material on the lives of great personalities, the meaning behind our festivals and samskaras, and the everyday ideals of Indian culture, and then sit a friendly written exam. There is no fee and no discrimination of any kind. What a child carries away is far larger than a result: spiritual growth through reflection and inner calm, mental development through critical thinking and emotional intelligence, and cultural enrichment through a living connection with their own roots.

Why It Matters

Today's schooling, under the weight of competition, often leaves little room for moral education, while nuclear families and fast-paced double-income lives give children fewer chances to absorb values at home. BSGP steps gently into that gap. It does not add academic pressure; it offers a window into the wisdom of our heritage — the dignity of the nation, the courage of great lives, the meaning behind rituals — at the very age when a child's character is forming. Across the country, more than a hundred thousand students have taken part, including young people from leading institutions, and many describe the experience as one that changed how they see themselves and their culture.

  • Fills the moral-education gap left by competitive schooling and busy homes
  • Reaches children at the age when character is being formed
  • Over a hundred thousand students nationwide, including from leading institutions

BSGP in Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, AWGP conducts BSGP across hundreds of schools, with tens of thousands of students taking part each year. Trained volunteers work hand in hand with schools — providing simple study booklets, conducting the exam in the classroom, and afterward sitting with students to discuss the Gayatri Mantra, the meaning of festivals, and the values behind each answer. Small celebrations often follow: lighting diyas, chanting together, sharing sweets. We warmly welcome schools, teachers and parents across Karnataka to join hands and carry this programme further, so that more children grow up rooted in their culture, strong in character, and confident in who they are.
