The Gayatri Pariwar holds that sadhana which stays only on the meditation mat is incomplete. Inner refinement must overflow into seva — selfless service that heals the world around us. Tree plantation is one of the simplest, most tangible expressions of that overflow.
When a volunteer plants a tree they will likely never sit under, something subtle happens. The ego that always asks 'what do I get?' grows quieter. Service performed without expectation is itself a meditation — it loosens the grip of self-interest and connects us to generations we will never meet.
Through the year our Bengaluru volunteers plant and nurture saplings across schools, temples and public spaces. Join a plantation drive once and you will understand why we call the soil our teacher.
